Hair & Beauty Salon Terms & Conditions

1. General

By booking an appointment or purchasing products/services from SHAILLY HAIR AND BEAUTY SALON (“we”, “our”, “us”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. 

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.

2. Bookings & Deposits

Appointments may require a deposit to secure your booking.

Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made outside the required notice period unless otherwise required under the Australian Consumer Law.

Your booking is not confirmed until a deposit has been received (where applicable).

For large appointments, colour corrections, bridal services, packages, or group bookings, full or partial prepayment may be required.

3. Cancellations, Rescheduling & No-Shows

We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or appointment changes.

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the booked service.

  • Failure to attend your appointment without notice (“no-show”) may result in a fee of up to 100% of the booked service.

  • Repeated cancellations or no-shows may require future bookings to be prepaid.

Cancellation fees must reflect a reasonable estimate of the salon’s loss and must be disclosed upfront to comply with Australian Consumer Law principles. (Progressive Legal)

4. Late Arrivals

If you arrive late, your appointment may need to be shortened, modified, or rescheduled.

Clients arriving more than 10–15 minutes late may be treated as a no-show if the service cannot reasonably be completed in the remaining appointment time.

Full service fees may still apply.

5. Pricing

Prices may vary depending on hair length, thickness, product usage, time required, and the condition of the hair or skin.

Quotes provided before services are estimates only and may change following consultation.

We reserve the right to change pricing without notice.

6. Refunds & Consumer Guarantees

We comply with the Australian Consumer Law.

We do not provide refunds for:

  • change of mind;

  • dissatisfaction where the requested service has been performed as agreed;

  • outcomes affected by undisclosed hair history, previous chemical treatments, medications, allergies, or failure to follow aftercare advice.

Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees that services will be provided with due care and skill. (Progressive Legal)

If you are unhappy with your service, please contact us within 7 days so we may assess and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.

7. Allergies, Medical Conditions & Client Responsibility

Clients must disclose:

  • allergies or sensitivities;

  • medications;

  • pregnancy;

  • recent cosmetic procedures;

  • prior chemical treatments;

  • medical conditions relevant to treatment.

We are not responsible for adverse reactions where relevant information was not disclosed.

Patch testing may be required before certain colour, tinting, lash, brow, or skin services.

We reserve the right to refuse service where treatment may be unsafe.

8. Results Disclaimer

Results may vary depending on:

  • hair history;

  • skin condition;

  • previous treatments;

  • home care;

  • lifestyle factors;

  • product use.

We do not guarantee identical outcomes to reference photos.

9. Gift Vouchers & Packages

Gift vouchers:

  • are non-refundable;

  • are not redeemable for cash;

  • must be used before the expiry date stated.

Unused portions of prepaid packages may only be refundable where required under Australian Consumer Law.

10. Retail Products

Retail products may be exchanged only where faulty or required under Australian Consumer Law.

For hygiene reasons, opened beauty or cosmetic products cannot be returned unless faulty.

11. Photography & Social Media

With your consent, we may photograph or video your hair/beauty results for marketing and social media purposes.

You may withdraw consent at any time.

12. Personal Belongings

We are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings brought into the salon.

13. Behaviour & Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service to any person engaging in abusive, inappropriate, unsafe, or disrespectful behaviour.

14. Privacy

Any personal information collected is handled in accordance with Australian privacy laws and used only for booking, communication, and service-related purposes.
